How China-Uganda BRI Project Sparked Love & Lights 🌟💡

On the banks of Uganda’s Nile River, a Belt and Road Initiative (BRI)-backed hydropower project isn’t just powering homes—it’s lighting up lives. Meet Ayebazibwe Bless, a Ugandan worker whose story blends career growth, romance, and national development 🇺🇬🤝🌍.

The Karuma Hydroelectric Power Station, Uganda’s largest, funded by the China Import and Export Bank, has become a symbol of progress. For Bless, it’s been life-changing: he’s gained engineering skills, built a career with the project’s contractors, and even found love with colleague Nyamungu Monica. Talk about a power couple! 💞🔧

“This station gave me everything—skills, family, purpose,” Bless says. Beyond his personal journey, the $1.4 billion project provides 600MW of electricity, tackling Uganda’s energy gaps and fueling economic opportunities for generations.

The collaboration extends to storytelling too! Co-directed by Chinese and Ugandan filmmakers, the documentary Rising with Pride will air on Ugandan TV, showcasing how BRI projects bridge cultures and aspirations. Lights, camera, impact! 🎥✨
