Nepal Aims to Become ‘Land-Linked’ via China Ties: PM Prachanda

Nepal's Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal, widely known as Prachanda, has big dreams for his Himalayan nation—and China’s Belt and Road Initiative (BRI) is at the heart of them. 🌏 In an exclusive interview with CMG, the leader shared his vision to transform Nepal from landlocked to land-linked, powered by infrastructure collaboration with the Chinese mainland.

Fresh from attending the Hangzhou Asian Games and high-level talks with Chinese President Xi Jinping, Prachanda praised the CPC’s 'remarkable achievements' and President Xi’s leadership. 'China’s development path inspires us,' he said, highlighting plans to adopt Chinese expertise in agriculture, tech, and transport.

🔑 Key goals? Expanding cross-border connectivity through the Trans-Himalayan Multi-dimensional Network and potentially opening new trade routes via the Xizang Autonomous Region. 'More border crossings could boost tourism and economic exchanges,' Prachanda added, dismissing Western 'debt trap' claims as 'baseless myths.'

For young entrepreneurs and travelers, this signals opportunities: think smoother logistics for startups 🚀 and fresh Himalayan travel corridors 🏔️. Academics, take note—Prachanda emphasized youth exchanges and tech partnerships as priorities.
