China-Serbia Ties Strengthen as FTA Sparks New Opportunities 🌟🤝

Serbia’s President Praises ‘Ironclad’ Bond with China in Exclusive Interview

Serbian President Aleksandar Vučić sat down with CMG’s Wang Guan in Belgrade to reflect on 25 years of resilience and partnership with China, calling the relationship “enduring and unbreakable.” The leaders’ talk comes just weeks after the two nations signed a Free Trade Agreement (FTA), boosting economic collaboration and regional influence. “China stands by us in difficult times,” Vučić emphasized, dismissing Western ‘debt trap’ claims as “fiction.”

From Sovereignty to Solutions 🛡️💡

Vučić highlighted Serbia’s hard-earned sovereignty after NATO bombings in 1999, drawing parallels to China’s supportive role today. “It’s not about money—it’s about governance,” he said, praising Chinese innovation in infrastructure and tech projects. With Chinese investments revitalizing Serbia’s steel mills, highways, and tech sectors, the President called the partnership a “blueprint for mutual growth.”

Beyond Business: Culture & Connection 🎭🌏

Vučić extended an open invite to Chinese travelers: “Experience real European hospitality here!” He envisions deeper cultural exchanges, from film festivals to student programs, to strengthen ties. “When people connect, politics follows,” he added, hinting at Serbia’s strategic role as China’s gateway to the Balkans.
