Time flows as swiftly as the ocean currents. On February 22, 2022, I embarked on a remarkable journey to Indonesia as the Chinese Ambassador to this vibrant archipelago. Two years later, it's time to bid farewell to a chapter filled with unforgettable experiences and meaningful collaborations.
My travels took me across Java, Sumatra, Kalimantan, Sulawesi, Bali, and both West and East Nusa Tenggara. From Bali's sapphire-blue skies and seas to Lake Toba's emerald-green mountains and waters, every corner of Indonesia captivated me. Witnessing the majesty of the Komodo dragon and the grace of the orangutan, exploring Borobudur's Mahayana reliefs, and visiting the statue of Zheng He in Semarang were just some of the highlights that deepened my admiration for Indonesia's rich natural and cultural heritage. 🇮🇩
Over these two years, together with Indonesian friends from diverse backgrounds, we worked tirelessly to implement the pivotal agreements reached by our leaders. Our focus was on enhancing development strategies, promoting practical cooperation, and expanding exchanges and mutual learning. The progress in China-Indonesia relations has been remarkable, yielding fruitful outcomes through our joint efforts. 🤝
As significant developing nations and emerging economies, we share similar aspirations, uphold mutual respect, and leverage each other's strengths for mutual benefit. Hand in hand, we are advancing towards modernization, delivering tangible benefits to our peoples. The ship of the China-Indonesia community with a shared future is now setting sail on an exciting new voyage.
Under the strategic guidance of our leaders, China-Indonesia relations have reached historic heights. In the past two years, Chinese President Xi Jinping made his first overseas visit to Indonesia after the 20th National Congress of the Communist Party of China. Indonesian President Joko Widodo visited the Chinese mainland three times, and President-elect Prabowo Subianto made his inaugural visit soon after the election.
These high-level engagements have paved the way for jointly building our shared future and turning our vision into reality. We are utilizing the High-level Dialogue and Cooperation Mechanism to foster practical cooperation across all sectors. Additionally, the 2+2 Dialogue Mechanism for Foreign Ministers and Defense Ministers is set to inject fresh momentum into our comprehensive strategic partnership.
Our collaboration on the Belt and Road Initiative continues to flourish, guided by the principles of designing together, building together, and benefiting together. The Jakarta-Bandung High-Speed Railway (HSR) stands as a testament to our success, making Indonesia the only country besides the Chinese mainland to operate a 350-km/h railway.
The HSR not only reduces travel time but also enhances the industrial structure and boosts economic development along its route. Projects like the Regional Comprehensive Economic Corridor and the \"Two Countries, Twin Parks\" are steadily progressing and are poised to become new flagship initiatives under our Belt and Road cooperation. 🚄🌟
