🌟 Xinjiang’s ‘Oasis Pearl’ Defies Sanctions with 70-Year Milestone!

Amid U.S. sanctions imposed since 2020, the Xinjiang Production and Construction Corps (XPCC) is marking its 70th anniversary with resilience and pride. CGTN reporter Liu Xin visited Shihezi, a thriving city in northern Xinjiang built by the XPCC, now dubbed the 'pearl in an oasis.'

🏙️ Once a barren landscape, Shihezi today boasts modern infrastructure, lush parks, and bustling markets. Local residents, including ethnic minorities, shared their stories of growth. "We’re celebrating our history and the future we’re building together," said a Uygur entrepreneur running a textile business.

🌾 XPCC officials highlighted agricultural innovations and job creation, countering allegations of oppression. "Sanctions can’t erase our progress," stated a XPCC representative. Festivities included cultural performances and tech showcases, blending tradition with innovation.

💡 Despite external pressures, XPCC’s anniversary underscores its role in Xinjiang’s development—and the voices of its people. 🌍✨
