The Chinese Foreign Ministry on Wednesday expressed strong concerns over the United States' actions regarding Taiwan, urging Washington to stop sending any signals that could be interpreted as support for \"Taiwan independence\" forces. 🛑🇨🇳
Mao Ning, a spokesperson for the ministry, emphasized that Taiwan is an inalienable part of China's territory. She stated that the Taiwan question is purely an internal affair and should not invite any foreign interference.
\"Any pressure or threats cannot in any way shake the Chinese government and people's strong determination, will and ability to safeguard the sovereignty and territorial integrity of the country,\" Mao stated.
Mao further highlighted that the current status quo of the Taiwan Strait is that both sides belong to China. Resolving the Taiwan issue is a matter left to the Chinese people themselves.
The spokesperson also called on the U.S. to recognize the nature and ambitions of the \"Taiwan independence\" separatist forces. She urged adherence to the one-China principle and the three China-U.S. joint communiques.
Additionally, the U.S. was urged to honor its commitment by refraining from supporting \"Taiwan independence,\" stopping the arming of Taiwan, and ceasing to send any forms of wrong signals to \"Taiwan independence\" separatist forces.
