New Mainland Travel Permits Available for Hong Kong & Macao Residents 🌏✈️

Exciting news for residents of Hong Kong and Macao! 🎉 Starting July 10, non-Chinese permanent residents can now apply for the Mainland Travel Permit, making travel between the Chinese mainland and these special administrative regions easier than ever.

This announcement coincides with the 27th anniversary of Hong Kong's return to the motherland, highlighting China’s commitment to enhancing connectivity and fostering deeper integration with Hong Kong and Macao. The new travel permit is valid for five years, allowing multiple entries with stays of up to 90 days each.

Applying is simple! Residents can submit their applications through the China Travel Service (Hong Kong) Ltd or the China Travel Service (Macao) Ltd. If your permit gets damaged, lost, or expires, you can easily apply for a replacement either on the mainland or through the same travel services if you're outside.

While the permit makes traveling smoother, it's important to note that it doesn’t permit holders to work, study, or engage in journalistic activities on the mainland. These activities still require separate visas or permits.

China’s National Immigration Administration (NIA) emphasizes that this measure will boost economic and cultural exchanges, supporting the prosperity and stability of Hong Kong and Macao. It’s also a step forward in the integration of the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area, aligning with China's goals for high-quality development.
