Chinese VP Han Zheng Advocates Enhanced Global Security at World Peace Forum

🌍✨ Chinese Vice President Han Zheng delivered a compelling speech at the opening ceremony of the 12th World Peace Forum in Beijing on Saturday, calling for improved global security governance.

Highlighting the profound changes the world is experiencing, Han emphasized China's commitment as a permanent member of the United Nations Security Council and a key player in the Global South. He presented a three-point proposal to steer the world towards a more secure and just future.

1. Peaceful Coexistence: Marking the 70th anniversary of the Five Principles of Peaceful Coexistence, Han reaffirmed China's dedication to safeguarding world peace and promoting shared development, aiming to bring greater stability and certainty to the global stage.

2. Common Security: Advocating for a concept of common, comprehensive, cooperative, and sustainable security, China is set to explore and implement solutions with Chinese characteristics. This approach aims to address hotspot issues and tackle global security challenges head-on.

3. Openness and Inclusiveness: To foster world peace and development, Han stressed the importance of openness and inclusiveness. China is ready to collaborate with other nations to jointly uphold peace and stability worldwide.

Han concluded by highlighting China's role as a builder of world peace, a contributor to global development, and a defender of the international order. He encouraged all participants to exchange views, build consensus, and contribute their wisdom and strength to enhance global security governance.

About 400 attendees, including former foreign political dignitaries, diplomatic envoys to China, experts, and scholars, gathered for the event. 📚🤝
