China & Guinea-Bissau Forge Stronger Ties in Beijing Meeting 🌏

Chinese Premier Li Qiang and Guinea-Bissau President Umaro Sissoco Embalo met in Beijing this week, spotlighting a new chapter in bilateral cooperation. 🤝 The leaders vowed to deepen collaboration under frameworks like the Belt and Road Initiative (BRI) and the Forum on China-Africa Cooperation (FOCAC), with plans to boost trade, infrastructure, and cultural exchanges.

Premier Li emphasized China’s commitment to supporting Guinea-Bissau’s development path, pledging expanded investment in agriculture, fisheries, and healthcare. 🌱💼 'China stands ready to share development experience and enhance strategic synergy,' he said, hinting at future student exchange programs and increased imports of Guinean agricultural products.

President Embalo praised China’s long-term support, reaffirming Guinea-Bissau’s adherence to the one-China principle and backing for global initiatives like building a 'community with a shared future for mankind.' 🌍 The two nations also pledged to collaborate closely ahead of the FOCAC summit in China this autumn, aiming to deliver 'fruitful results' for Africa-China relations.
