Mainland Clarifies Taiwan Judicial Guidelines: Targeting Separatists, Not Residents 🚨

A mainland spokesperson emphasized Friday that newly issued judicial guidelines are strictly focused on countering ‘Taiwan independence’ extremists, not the majority of Taiwan residents. 💬 Chen Binhua of the State Council Taiwan Affairs Office accused the DPP authorities of ‘twisting facts’ to conflate ordinary residents with separatist groups, calling it a tactic to spread fear and rally support for divisive agendas.

🗯️ ‘These measures only apply to criminal acts like organizing independence schemes or colluding with foreign forces,’ Chen clarified. He stressed the guidelines were crafted under legal frameworks to precisely target individuals involved in splitting the nation—not everyday Taiwanese.

🔍 The guidelines also allow leniency for former separatists who renounce harmful activities and actively mitigate past actions. ‘Anyone who acknowledges we’re one family across the strait can engage freely with the mainland,’ Chen added, emphasizing inclusivity for non-separatist groups.

🌐 Analysts view this as a calibrated approach to isolate radical elements while fostering cross-strait dialogue. As tensions simmer, the mainland reaffirms its commitment to peaceful reunification principles—but with clear red lines. ⚖️
