Rwanda’s Kagame Secures Fourth Term with Record 99% Vote 🗳️🇷🇼

Rwandan President Paul Kagame has clinched a historic fourth term in office with a jaw-dropping 99.15% of the vote, cementing his position as one of Africa's longest-serving leaders. Monday's election saw 66-year-old Kagame dominate over challengers Frank Habineza of the Democratic Green Party (0.53%) and independent Philippe Mpayimana (0.32%).

🗣️ “These figures show the trust, and that is what is most important,” Kagame declared at his party headquarters, praising Rwandans for their “transparent” electoral process. Over 100,000 local volunteers and 1,100 international observers monitored the polls, which authorities called “safe and transparent.”

📈 The victory surpasses Kagame’s 2017 result of 98.79%, extending his 24-year leadership in the East African nation. Full results are expected by July 27, but with 79% of ballots counted, the outcome appears set in stone.

🌍 Analysts say the landslide reflects Kagame’s popularity for stabilizing Rwanda post-genocide, though critics highlight concerns about political freedoms. For now, the streets of Kigali are buzzing with celebrations as Kagame prepares for five more years at the helm.
