China & Norway Boost Ties 🌏: 70 Years of Diplomatic Wins & Green Goals

In a vibrant meeting on the sidelines of regional talks in Laos 🇱🇦, Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi and Norway’s Espen Barth Eide reaffirmed their nations’ commitment to strengthening cooperation, marking 70 years of diplomatic relations with ambitious plans for the future.

Wang highlighted a surge in trade this year, calling it proof of the relationship’s 'resilience and potential.' He welcomed Norwegian businesses to 'explore opportunities' in China’s booming markets 💼 and emphasized collaboration on green energy transitions 🌱, saying both countries must 'champion economic globalization' amidst global uncertainties.

Eide echoed the sentiment, stressing Norway’s adherence to the one-China policy and opposition to tariffs on Chinese electric vehicles. 'No country accepts division of its territory,' he said, aligning with Beijing’s stance on sovereignty. Both sides also pledged to deepen climate action and back Palestine’s statehood, with Wang outlining China’s efforts to mediate in global crises like Ukraine.

The talks signal a new chapter for these Arctic and Asian partners—blending tradition with innovation for a greener, more connected world. 🌐✨
