In a high-level meeting in Laos, Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi and Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov pledged closer collaboration to boost stability and growth in East Asia. The two nations, both key ASEAN partners, emphasized their commitment to an 'open and inclusive' regional framework centered on Southeast Asian leadership.

🔹 Wang highlighted the 'mature, stable, and resilient' ties between China and Russia, noting their joint efforts to counter 'external disturbances' and uphold mutual core interests. Both sides agreed to deepen coordination within ASEAN-led platforms and support the bloc's central role in regional diplomacy.

🔹 Lavrov praised China’s recent CPC Central Committee plenary session, calling it vital for global economic recovery. He reiterated Russia’s support for China’s upcoming SCO presidency, while Wang backed Russia’s 2024 BRICS chairmanship ahead of the Kazan summit.

💡 The leaders also aligned on Middle East peace efforts, with Lavrov applauding China’s role in mediating Palestinian unity talks. Their discussions underscored a shared vision for multipolar global governance and resistance to what they termed 'external interference' in regional affairs.

With the SCO and BRICS gaining momentum, this partnership signals a strategic push to reshape Asia’s geopolitical landscape—one handshake at a time. ✨
