At 8 a.m. local time, Ukraine's 22nd Mechanized Brigade, equipped with 11 tanks and over 20 armored combat vehicles, launched a massive attack on Russian border defense positions near Nikolaevo-Daryino and Oleshnya. \"The move was necessary to eliminate the consequences of enemy forces coming into the region,\" stated Acting Regional Governor Alexei Smirnov.
