Libyan PM Vows to Fight Military Division Amid Rising Tensions

🇱🇾 Libyan Prime Minister Abdul-Hamid Dbeibah declared on Sunday that his government will oppose “anyone trying to renew military violations and reinforce division” in the conflict-torn nation. The remarks came during a military graduation ceremony in Tripoli, where he emphasized: “The unity of Libya is a red line.”

💥 The PM’s speech follows deadly clashes between rival militias east of Tripoli on Friday, which killed 9 people and displaced families. Dbeibah urged new military graduates to “deter external ambitions” and focus on building a national army “not tied to individuals.”

🌍 Libya has faced political chaos since Muammar Gaddafi’s 2011 overthrow, with two rival governments and foreign powers vying for influence. The UN Mission condemned recent violence, calling for unified security forces and accountable institutions – a stab at stability in a nation craving peace.
