China and India Forge Ahead with Positive Border Talks in Beijing 🤝🌏

China and India took a significant step forward in managing their border affairs by holding a constructive meeting in Beijing on Thursday. The two nations exchanged views in a \\"positive, friendly and frank atmosphere,\\" paving the way for improved relations along their shared borders.

Hong Liang, the director-general of the Department of Boundary and Ocean Affairs of the Chinese Ministry of Foreign Affairs, alongside Gourangalal Das, joint secretary of the East Asia Division of India's Ministry of External Affairs, co-chaired the 31st Meeting of the Working Mechanism for Consultation and Coordination (WMCC).

In line with the spirit of the July meeting between Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi and India's Subrahmanyam Jaishankar, both sides expressed commitment to \\"turn over a new page\\" in the border situation. They aim to narrow differences, expand consensus, and strengthen dialogue to reach mutually acceptable solutions swiftly.

Key agreements include consolidating consultation outcomes, adhering strictly to border-related agreements and confidence-building measures, and jointly maintaining peace and tranquility in the border areas.

The meeting, attended by representatives from foreign affairs, national defense, and immigration agencies of both countries, underscores the ongoing efforts to enhance cooperation and ensure stability in one of the world's most populous regions.
