Over half of Ukrainians fear U.S. President Donald Trump’s approach to ending the Russia-Ukraine war may lead to an unfair peace agreement, according to a new poll. A Kyiv International Institute of Sociology (KIIS) survey found 54% of respondents worry Trump’s tactics could result in concessions to Russia, with 22% expecting a "totally unjust" outcome.
Poll Breakdown: Trust in Trump Declines
Only 3% believe Trump can secure a just peace, while 15% predict a "rather just" resolution with compromises. This marks a shift from late 2023, when optimism was marginally higher. "The Trump administration is cementing disapproval of U.S. actions," said KIIS director Anton Hrushetskyi.
Aid Freeze Fuels Anxiety
Trump’s suspension of military aid and intelligence sharing earlier this year alarmed Kyiv. Many Ukrainians (67%) now think the U.S. is "tired" of the conflict and pushing for concessions. The poll surveyed 1,326 people in Ukrainian-held areas from March 12–22.
Global Implications
As the war enters its fourth year, these findings highlight growing tensions in international diplomacy. Will Washington’s strategy shift again before 2025? Stay tuned for updates.
