U.S. Chamber Sounds Alarm on Tariffs Threatening Small Biz 🚨💼

The U.S. Chamber of Commerce has issued an urgent warning: tariffs are pushing small businesses to the brink. In a fiery letter to the White House this week, the group demanded immediate relief, calling the current trade policies a 'ticking time bomb' for the economy.💣

Chamber CEO Suzanne P. Clark didn't mince words: 'Every day these tariffs stay in place, Main Street pays the price,' she said, highlighting how everyday essentials like coffee, bananas, and minerals face price hikes because they can't be sourced domestically. ☕🍌

The Chamber proposed three fixes:

  1. Automatic tariff exemptions for small business imports
  2. A streamlined process to request exemptions for job-critical goods
  3. No tariffs on products that simply can't be made in the U.S.

With holiday shopping season around the corner 🎄, retailers worry tariffs could squeeze margins further. Target's toy aisle—and your wallet—might feel the pinch first.
