Russia & Ukraine Complete Historic Prisoner Swap 🌍✌️

In a major diplomatic breakthrough, Russia and Ukraine wrapped up their largest prisoner exchange since the conflict began in 2022, swapping 303 captives each this weekend. The move follows recent talks in Istanbul, Türkiye, where both sides agreed to a 1,000-person exchange plan—a rare moment of cooperation amid ongoing tensions. 🕊️

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy confirmed the swap on X (formerly Twitter), noting freed personnel included soldiers, border guards, and transport service members. Meanwhile, Russia stated its released prisoners are receiving medical and psychological support in Belarus. 🏥

This three-day exchange—totaling 1,000+ freed individuals—marks the 65th swap since the war started. Earlier rounds included 270 soldiers, 120 civilians, and a 307-for-307 military trade. While the conflict continues, these gestures hint at fragile hopes for de-escalation. 🤝

Analysts call it a 'trust-building step,' but stress long-term peace remains uncertain. As one freed Ukrainian soldier told local media: 'We’re home, but the fight isn’t over.' 💔
