Chinese Mainland’s Sailing Team Gears Up for Paris Olympics with Record Nine Spots 🚤

The Chinese mainland's sailing team is making significant waves in Jinzhou, Liaoning Province, as they compete in the National Windsurfing Championship. This event represents the final challenge before they set their sights on the Paris 2024 Olympics.

Since December, the Chinese mainland's sailors have been on an impressive winning streak, clinching victory in five events at the Asian Sailing Championship, securing five Olympic berths. Their momentum didn't stop there; they earned four additional spots through strong performances at the Hague World Championships and the Hangzhou Asian Games last year. This triumph has resulted in a record nine Olympic places for Paris, the highest number achieved by the team since the Beijing 2008 Games.

Reflecting on their past performance, the team celebrated one gold and one silver in Tokyo three years ago. Now, team leader Zhang Xiguang is determined to surpass that success in France.

\"Our training results have been extremely promising. The wind conditions in Jinzhou are ideal, and our team arrived early at the competition site to align with the national team's training schedule. Our daily training sessions mirror the intensity of the actual competition, creating an atmosphere that's conducive to peak performance,\" Zhang said.
