In an exciting turn of events, Cui Yongxi from China is set to join the Portland Trail Blazers on an Exhibit 10 contract after going undrafted in the recent NBA Draft held at the Barclays Center in Brooklyn, New York City.

An Exhibit 10 deal offers a one-year, minimum salary that doesn't count towards the team's salary cap. This contract can be converted into a two-way deal before the regular season kicks off. If waived, Cui has the opportunity to join the team's G League affiliate, keeping his professional aspirations on track.

At just 21, Cui participated in workouts with six NBA teams, including the Brooklyn Nets, Memphis Grizzlies, Utah Jazz, Indiana Pacers, New York Knicks, and Portland before the draft. He will represent the Trail Blazers in the NBA Summer League starting July 12 in Las Vegas, Nevada.

Speaking with Tencent Sports, Cui shared his experiences and growth from his time in the U.S.

\"My biggest gain was that I learnt a lot of new things including forms of training, style of playing and trend of basketball development here. After I communicated more with players here and faced them on the court, I found myself getting closer to matching their pace. Hopefully I can achieve more improvement in the future.\"

When discussing the differences between young players in China and the U.S., Cui pointed out the early start and professional training systems in the States.

\"They have professional trainers to work with children who love basketball. In fact, they began to play basketball in a professional system when they were 11, or even eight or nine years old. I think the gap is in training quality, including differences in nutrition and professionalism of college and high-school basketball. They are all different from what's on our side.\"
