All eyes are on China’s young sharpshooters as the 2024 Paris Olympics kicks off this weekend! Two rookie pairs—Huang Yuting & Sheng Lihao and Han Jiayu & Du Linshu—are set to compete for gold in the 10-meter air rifle mixed team event, which could award the Games’ first medal.
Huang and Sheng, dubbed the ‘Golden Duo,’ have dominated the sport since teaming up in 2023. They’ve clinched six wins out of seven competitions, including the World Cup, World Championships, and Hangzhou Asian Games. Huang also snagged individual gold in the women’s 10-meter air rifle at the Asian Games, proving she’s a force solo and in a team.
‘I beat myself today,’ Huang said after her Asian Games victory, reflecting on overcoming pre-event jitters. ‘No pressure, just focus on the process—and it worked.’
