Vincent Collet Steps Down as France’s Basketball Coach, Takes on New Advisor Role 🏀✨

After an illustrious 26-year coaching career, Vincent Collet has stepped down as the head coach of the French men's national basketball team. The French Federation of Basketball (FFBB) has appointed him as a Special Advisor to their National Technical Directorate, marking a new chapter in his sports journey. 🚀💼

Collet took the reins of Les Bleus in March 2009 and led them to impressive achievements, including winning EuroBasket in 2013, securing two third-place finishes at the FIBA Basketball World Cups, and earning two Olympic silver medals. His leadership saw the team compete in six EuroBasket tournaments, four World Cups, and four Olympic Games.

\"It's a little more than a page that turns,\" Collet shared. \"I've been a coach for 26 years and I've had the immense honor of being the national selector. It was the right time for this final curtain.\"

In his new role, Collet will advise on training players and coaches, potentially stepping back into coaching roles with NBA franchises or Euroleague teams if opportunities arise. \"I remain a coach. I also think that I will coach again one day,\" he added. \"I don't feel done, not finished.\"

As Collet transitions to his advisor role, the basketball community looks forward to his continued influence on the sport and his future coaching endeavors. 🏀🌟
