In a notable matchup, Wang Manyu swept aside local favorite Zhu Yuling with scores of 11-5, 11-4, 11-6 in the women’s singles round of 16. Reflecting on the match, Wang Manyu shared her feelings: \\"Today's match is bigger than the result. I don't think it's easy for Zhu Yuling to come back to play. I'm happy to play with her in the match again.\\"
Meanwhile, Sun Yingsha triumphed over South Korea's Kim Na-yeong with scores of 11-9, 11-6, 11-7, securing her place in the quarterfinals.
