Sichuan Wins Inaugural FIBA Women’s Asia Title 🏀🔥

Sichuan Yuanda Meile made history Saturday, defeating Japan’s Fujitsu Red Wave 73-69 in a nail-biter 🏆 to become the first-ever champions of the FIBA Women’s Basketball League Asia! The home crowd in Chengdu erupted as star players Han Xu and Gao Song dominated the court 👑.

After cruising past Indonesia’s Surabaya Fever and Taiwan region’s Cathay Life, the two-time WCBA champions faced their toughest test against Fujitsu – last season’s JBL winners. The game turned into a three-point showdown 🔥, with Gao sinking critical shots and Han dropping 24 points (including clutch blocks!) to seal the victory.

🇨🇳 Chinese national teammates Li Meng and Han Xu proved unstoppable, combining for key plays that kept Sichuan ahead. Despite a late surge by Japan’s Uchio Akina, Han’s rim protection secured the historic win 🚫🏀.

🏅 Han Xu was crowned MVP, capping a tournament where Sichuan never trailed. 'This is for our fans!' said Gao Song post-game, as Chengdu celebrated its new basketball royalty 👑.
