Not to be outdone, Hubei's Sun Jiajun (a Paris Olympics relay gold medalist) blazed through the men’s 50m breaststroke semifinals in 25.72 seconds, dethroning compatriot Yan Zibei’s Asian record.
Other highlights? Shandong’s Wang Yichun claimed gold in the 100m butterfly (56.06s), while 17-year-old phenom Chen Lu — already a world youth record holder — snagged silver. Hebei’s Yu Zidi also shone in the 400m individual medley (4:30.21).
