China’s Liao Dominates Weightlifting Worlds with Triple Gold 🏋️♀️🌟

Chinese weightlifter Liao Guifang flexed her strength and strategy at the IWF World Championships in Bahrain this week, sweeping all three gold medals in the women’s 81kg category! 💪 The 23-year-old athlete outlifted rivals from Mongolia, the Democratic People’s Republic of Korea (DPRK), and Egypt to cement her status as a rising star.

In the snatch event, Liao secured gold early with a 120kg lift but pushed further to 123kg in her third attempt. Mongolia’s Ankhtsetseg Munkhjantsan (115kg) and the DPRK’s Kim Kyong Ryong (114kg) trailed behind. The clean and jerk saw even fiercer competition: Liao locked in gold with 150kg on her second try but still smashed her final attempt at 155kg—making her the lightest competitor to clinch total victory. 🥇

Egypt’s Sara Samir, a Paris Olympic silver medalist, took second with 149kg, while Kim Kyong Ryong claimed bronze (147kg). Liao’s triple triumph highlights China’s prowess in the sport—and sets the stage for her Olympic ambitions. 🎯
