Marking a historic moment, Italy will host the first three stages starting on August 23, 2025, before the race returns to its homeland of Spain. This is the first time the Vuelta a España starts in Italy and only the sixth occasion it begins outside of Spain. The opening stage will see cyclists racing from Turin to Novara over a challenging 183-kilometer route that includes the scenic Bienca-Tomalino Pass. Stage three will take competitors from San Maurizio Canavese to Ceres over 139 kilometers, featuring the tough climb over the Issiglio Pass.
