Ahead of this year's United Cup, top-seeded Americans Taylor Fritz and Coco Gauff took a break to explore Western Australia's iconic Rottnest Island.
The dynamic duo, ranked World No. 4 Fritz and World No. 3 Gauff, enjoyed a leisurely stroll around the island's picturesque Basin, captured adorable selfies with the island's native quokkas , and indulged in the famous 'Cray Dog'
—a Western Australian-inspired lobster roll that's a local favorite.
Fritz, who was part of the USA championship team at the inaugural event in 2023, is gearing up to defend his title. Gauff, fresh off a stellar 2024 season that saw her win the WTA Finals, is making her tournament debut at the United Cup.
The excitement kicks off this Friday in Perth and continues on Saturday in Sydney. Both cities will host group-play and knockout quarter-finals, with the semi-finals and final set to take place exclusively in Sydney from January 4 to 5.
Team USA is all set to face Canada in their first match on Sunday evening. Fritz will take on Felix Auger-Aliassime, against whom he currently leads 2-0, while Gauff is set to battle former U.S. Open runner-up Leylah Fernandez. Let’s cheer them on as they aim for victory!
