Alexander Zverev delivered a rollercoaster performance to storm into the Miami Open's fourth round, overcoming Australia's Jordan Thompson 7-5, 6-4 on Monday. Despite trailing 4-1 in the first set, the German star flipped the script , winning eight of the next nine games to dominate the match.
'Jordan made it difficult… I'm happy with my level from 1-4 onwards,' Zverev said post-match. With Carlos Alcaraz out, the world No. 4 eyes his eighth Masters 1000 title – could Miami be his moment?
Meanwhile, third-seeded Taylor Fritz cruised past Canada's Denis Shapovalov 7-5, 6-3. Though Fritz stumbled after a 5-2 lead in the first set, his lethal serve secured the win.
