Chinese freeskier Li Xinpeng made history yesterday by clinching his first-ever FIS Freestyle Aerials World Cup gold medal in Lake Placid! The 2026 competition saw fierce snowfall and even fiercer competition as four Chinese athletes dominated the finals ahead of next month's Winter Olympics.

Li's winning moment came with a jaw-dropping 137.19-point performance, sticking his high-difficulty tricks like a video game character nailing the final level 🎮. Teammate Wang Xindi grabbed silver (112.00 pts) while Canada's Miha Fontaine took bronze (107.73).

"This feels like unlocking a new achievement!" said Li, whose back-to-back flips defied both gravity and the worsening weather ❄️. The event served as a thrilling preview of China's aerial skiing strength heading into the Olympic season.
