Located 400 km from Dhaka, the plant marks Bangladesh’s leap into commercial wind energy. 'We’re entering a new era,' said Md. Abdul Kader Goni of Bangladesh Power Development Board. The project used Chinese tech and standards, training local engineers like Manik Ahamed, who shared: 'I learned how to harness wind safely for our grid—this is our future.'
Beyond clean energy, the initiative created 1,500+ jobs and 'paved the way for more Belt and Road collaborations,' added Goni. With plans to expand renewable partnerships, Bangladesh and China are writing a fresh chapter in sustainable development.
