China's first independently-developed ultra-deepwater gas field, Shenhai-1, also known as Deep Sea No.1, has achieved impressive milestones. 🚀💧
Since its commencement on June 25, 2021, Shenhai-1 has recorded an accumulated natural gas output of over 8 billion cubic meters and an oil output exceeding 800,000 cubic meters. These figures mark significant progress in China's energy sector and showcase the advancements in deepwater extraction technology.
Located 150 km off the coast of Sanya in Hainan province, Shenhai-1 operates at depths exceeding 1,500 meters, making it the deepest gas field in China. The project is spearheaded by the China National Offshore Oil Corporation (CNOOC), which is currently undertaking phase II upgrades.
Phase II aims to upgrade the gas field further, expanding control to 23 deep-water gas wells and implementing two sets of underwater production systems. These enhancements are expected to boost production capacity and ensure sustainable energy output for the future.
As China continues to invest in cutting-edge energy projects like Shenhai-1, the nation's position in the global energy landscape strengthens, promising a more sustainable and secure energy future. 🌏🔋✨
