🎉 Milestone Achieved: First Hualong-1 Nuclear Unit Dome Completed in Greater Bay Area!

Big news from southern China's Guangdong Province! The outer dome of Unit 1 at the Taipingling Nuclear Power Plant in Huizhou City has been completed. 🌟 This impressive dome spans a radius of 36 meters and stands about 11 meters tall – that's roughly the size of five basketball courts! 🏀🏀🏀🏀🏀

Scheduled to be operational by 2025, Unit 1 marks the first Hualong-1 nuclear power unit in the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area. Once up and running, it will generate a whopping 10 billion kilowatt-hours of clean electricity each year, powering the daily lives of 1 million people. ⚡🌿

The Taipingling Nuclear Power Plant plans to house six 1-million-kilowatt Hualong-1 units in total. While Unit 1 is currently in the critical stages of installation and commissioning, Unit 2 is ramping up its equipment installation phase. Both units aim to be operational by 2025, contributing to a collective annual electricity generation exceeding 50 billion kilowatt-hours. 🚀

Zhang Guoqiang from China General Nuclear Power Group highlighted the environmental impact, stating that the project will reduce standard coal consumption by over 15 million tonnes and cut carbon dioxide emissions by approximately 41.2 million tonnes. 🌍✨ These environmental benefits are comparable to planting nearly 113,000 hectares of forest!

This development not only underscores the region's commitment to sustainable energy but also paves the way for more clean energy projects in the future. Stay tuned for more updates on this groundbreaking project! 🔋🌱
