China’s Rail Freight Smashes Records in June 🚄📈

China's rail network is on a roll—literally! 🌍 Railways transported 332 million tonnes of cargo in June—a 6.1% increase from last year—while freight turnover jumped 5.3%, according to data from the China State Railway Group. Think of that as moving enough goods to fill over 130 million delivery trucks! 📦

But wait, there's more: shipments of containers, cars, and cold-chain goods (think fresh produce 🥦 and vaccines 💉) soared by 18%, 12.1%, and 21.2%, respectively. Meanwhile, passenger trips hit 2.1 billion in the first half of 2024—up nearly 20% year-on-year. Talk about a post-pandemic travel boom! ✈️

Global trade is getting a boost too. The China-Europe freight trains made 1,719 trips in June (up 15%!), linking 224 European cities and over 100 Asian hubs. And the China-Laos Railway, a Belt and Road star 🌟, saw cross-border cargo surge 20.7% last month. With supply chains smoother than ever, China's rail power is redefining global logistics. 🚂
