China's AI Innovations Skyrocket
By the end of 2023, China has amassed a staggering 378,000 effective artificial intelligence (AI) invention patents. This represents a robust 40% year-on-year growth, significantly outpacing the global average by 1.4 times 🚀, according to the China National Intellectual Property Administration (CNIPA).
AI is at the heart of China's booming digital economy, with core industries contributing 10% of the GDP last year. In 2023 alone, 406,000 invention patents were approved in these core digital sectors, making up 45% of all granted invention patents in the country 📈.
Over the past five years, China has seen an impressive 21% annual growth rate in invention patents within the digital economy, highlighting the thriving technological innovations 🌟.
Furthermore, by the end of 2023, a total of 155,000 domestic enterprises secured invention patents related to the digital economy, marking an increase of 31,000 from the previous year 📊.
It's not just domestic players driving this surge. Foreign enterprises are also boosting their patent portfolios in China's digital core industries. From 93 countries and regions, businesses have secured valid invention patents in these sectors, with the digital product manufacturing sector leading at 61.8% 🌏.
