NASA Shifts Astronauts to SpaceX Mission Amid Boeing Setback 🚀

NASA has made a dramatic crew swap for SpaceX’s upcoming mission! 🌍 Astronauts Butch Wilmore and Suni Williams, stranded on the International Space Station (ISS) since June due to Boeing’s troubled Starliner capsule, will now hitch a ride home aboard SpaceX’s Crew Dragon. Their return comes after NASA deemed Starliner’s propulsion issues too risky for re-entry.

Crew Shakeup & New Timeline

Originally set to launch August 18 with four astronauts, the SpaceX mission is now delayed to September 24. 🗓️ Zena Cardman and Stephanie Wilson—originally slated for the flight—will step aside, but NASA assures they’re still in line for future missions. Nick Hague will take command, joined by Roscosmos cosmonaut Aleksandr Gorbunov, with all four returning to Earth in February 2025.

Boeing’s Starliner Woes Deepen

The move deals another blow to Boeing’s space ambitions 🚨, as the company hoped its Starliner test would revive its program after years of delays. Now, rival SpaceX is stepping in to save the day—again. With Starliner’s future uncertain, NASA’s reliance on SpaceX underscores shifting dynamics in the space race.

Stay tuned for updates as the mission approaches! 👨🚀👩🚀
