Singapore's Ministry of Health (MOH) has ramped up its efforts to combat the spread of mpox Clade I infections. On Wednesday, the MOH announced updated measures focusing on detection, tracing, isolation, and vaccination to ensure the community stays safe and informed.
Medical practitioners and healthcare institutions are now on high alert to swiftly detect and report any mpox cases. If someone is confirmed to have a Clade I infection, their close contacts will be quarantined in designated government facilities for 21 days to prevent further transmission.
For individuals suspected of having Clade I mpox, immediate isolation is required while awaiting test results. Those who test positive will remain isolated in healthcare facilities until they are no longer contagious, ensuring that the virus does not spread within the community.
These proactive measures reflect Singapore's commitment to public health and the safety of its residents. By staying vigilant and implementing these strategies, Singapore aims to effectively control and eventually eliminate the mpox outbreak.
