China’s West-East Gas Pipeline 4 Launches First Section, Boosting Clean Energy 🚀🌱

🌟 Exciting news from China! The inaugural segment of the highly anticipated West-East Gas Pipeline 4 officially began operations this Sunday. This major infrastructure milestone is set to enhance the regional energy network and promote green, low-carbon energy transitions along its path.

The first section, located in the northwest Chinese mainland's Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region, is engineered to transport a whopping 15 billion cubic meters of natural gas annually. 🚚💨

Wang Xinsheng, production manager of PipeChina West Pipeline Company, shared that integrating this new segment with the existing network boosts the system's total annual transmission capacity to 92 billion cubic meters. 📈

Stretching 1,745 kilometers from Wuqia County in Xinjiang to Zhongwei City in the Ningxia Hui Autonomous Region, the pipeline includes a newly operational 583-kilometer stretch connecting Turpan to Hami. 🗺️

Innovative technologies were employed during construction, such as extra-large diameter pipes for better seismic resilience in complex geographies and digital radiography for efficient, eco-friendly monitoring. 🏗️🌱

Additionally, the pipeline's stations and valve rooms are now equipped with solar power systems, saving 360,000 kWh of electricity each year and reducing carbon dioxide emissions by 362 tonnes annually. ☀️💚

This ambitious project is set to strengthen Xinjiang's oil and gas industry while supplying clean energy to areas along the route, benefiting both the environment and local economies. A win-win for everyone involved! 🌍✨
