China’s EV Charging Network Hits 20.7M Connectors 🚗⚡

China’s electric vehicle revolution just got a major power boost! ⚡ The country’s EV charging network surged to 20.7 million connectors by the end of January 2026, marking a jaw-dropping 49.6% year-on-year increase, according to the National Energy Administration.

🔌 Here’s the breakdown: 4.8 million public chargers (up 31.2%) and 15.9 million private units (up 56.1%) are now energizing roads from Shanghai skyscrapers to rural villages. The average public charger packs 47 kilowatts – enough to juice up most EVs faster than you can finish a TikTok scroll!

🌾 Big news for road trippers: Charging deserts are shrinking! While coastal hubs like Guangdong and Zhejiang still lead, 19 provinces have already brought chargers to every township as of late 2025. The share of public chargers in top-tier provinces dropped from 71.4% in 2022 to 65.7% last year – proof that China’s green infrastructure boom is going viral nationwide.

🚙 What’s next? With charging capacity now at 226 million kilowatts, China’s grid is prepped for its next-gen EVs. Analysts say this expansion could supercharge the global shift to electric transport – one charged kilometer at a time!
