Russia & US in Talks to Extend ISS Operations Beyond 2028 🚀

Space diplomacy takes center stage as Russia and the United States negotiate extending International Space Station (ISS) operations beyond its planned 2028 retirement. 🌌 Sergei Krikalev, Roscosmos deputy director, confirmed discussions are underway to ensure a "smooth transition" to next-gen orbital stations.

"The Americans have certified their modules until 2030," Krikalev noted, adding that future stations might initially dock at the ISS before operating independently. This cosmic handoff plan comes as Russia prepares to launch its national orbital station in 2028, while developing a new crewed spacecraft for maiden flights that same year.

🔭 Space watchers say this collaboration defies Earth-bound tensions, proving science remains a universal language. With China's Tiangong station expanding and private companies like Axiom building commercial modules, 2026 looks set to be a pivotal year for humanity's off-world ambitions!
