Rare White Alligator Born in Florida: A ‘Snowflake’ Wonder 🐊✨

An ultra-rare white leucistic alligator has hatched at Florida's Gatorland Orlando, captivating wildlife enthusiasts worldwide! 🌍 The 49cm female, with icy-blue eyes and pearl-white scales, is one of fewer than 10 known leucistic alligators globally—making her arrival a once-in-a-generation event.

🐣 Why It’s Historic: This little reptile is the first solid-white descendant of a legendary leucistic nest discovered in Louisiana’s swamps in 1987. Only seven from that original group remain today, with three calling Gatorland home.

🔬 Science Spotlight: Unlike albino gators (which have pink eyes and zero pigment), leucistic alligators retain some coloration in their eyes and faint markings. Think of it like nature’s ‘limited edition’ filter! 🎨

🗳️ You Can Name Her! The park is crowdsourcing names for its newest celebrity. Got ideas? Drop them on Gatorland’s social media—your suggestion could go viral! 💻

The gator and her normally colored brother will debut for visitors in 2024. Until then, they’re under VIP care (Very Important Predator, that is). 🛡️
