Nature lovers, mark your calendars! The 38th National Lotus Exhibition has transformed Wuxi’s Taihu Lake area into a floral wonderland, running now through August 31. This summer spectacle in east China’s Jiangsu Province offers three Instagram-ready zones: the misty Yuantouzhu peninsula, the wild beauty of Guanshe Shanzhuang wetland park, and the classical charm of Liyuan Garden.
Visitors can paddle through lotus-dotted waterways or marvel at rare hybrids like the giant ‘King Lotus’ – some leaves are strong enough to literally hold small children! Local artists are showcasing lotus-themed porcelain and silk paintings, while food stalls serve up regional delicacies like sweet lotus seed congee.
Environmentalists will love the exhibition’s focus on wetland conservation. “This isn’t just a flower show – it’s about protecting ecosystems,” says curator Li Mei. Night tours with floating lanterns and traditional music performances add extra
sparkle
to the experience.
