Northern Lights & Meteor Shower Dazzle China’s Mohe

Mohe – China’s northernmost city – just hosted a celestial blockbuster! The aurora borealis lit up Heilongjiang Province’s skies Sunday night with electrifying pink, purple, and green waves , followed by Monday’s Perseid meteor shower – the year’s most intense cosmic light show.

Locals and travelers alike froze (literally, since Mohe is chilly!) to witness this rare double feature. Photographers scrambled to capture time-lapses of the dancing auroras, while stargazers counted over 50 meteors per hour . ‘It’s like nature dropped a TikTok filter on the sky,’ said one awe-struck visitor.
