In the wake of a magnitude-6.8 earthquake that shook Dingri County in the Xizang Autonomous Region, a heartwarming story of hope and creativity has emerged. Thirteen-year-old Tenzin Thapa found an unexpected passion for photography after crossing paths with Tsering Samdrup, a reporter with the Xizang Forest Fire Brigade.

Samdrup, documenting rescue efforts, became an unlikely mentor to Thapa. Captivated by the power of Samdrupโ€™s lens, the teen asked to learn the craft.
