In the misty mountains of China’s Guizhou province lies Zheng’an – a small town making big waves in the global music scene. Known as the ‘Capital of Guitars’, this unlikely hub produces 1 out of every 7 guitars sold worldwide 🌍, creating a symphony of cultural exchange that’s caught international attention.
Swedish virtuoso Johannes Möller first arrived in 2017, drawn by stories of streets buzzing with guitar workshops and local bands. ‘I felt like I’d found music’s secret headquarters’, he recalls. Nine years later, the Grammy-nominated artist still calls Zheng’an home, blending Scandinavian precision with Chinese craftsmanship to create signature instruments 🎶.
What keeps him there? ‘It’s not just the 2 million guitars shipped yearly’, Möller explains. ‘Every alley has teenagers jamming rock ballads, farmers’ markets host impromptu concerts – this town breathes music’.
Young musicians worldwide are taking note 📱. The town’s #GuitarTownChallenge on Douyin (China’s TikTok) has sparked covers from Seoul to Stockholm, proving music truly knows no borders.
