🌍 Over 100 Nations Rally Against Human Rights Politicization at UN

In a major diplomatic move, over 100 countries stood with China at the UN General Assembly’s Third Committee this week, rejecting what they called the politicization of human rights issues. The debate ignited after a handful of Western nations, including the U.S. and Australia, accused China of human rights violations—a claim swiftly shut down by global solidarity. 🚫

Ambassador Fu Cong, China’s permanent representative to the UN, slammed the accusations as \"baseless,\" emphasizing that the urgent human rights crisis lies in Gaza, not China. \"Double standards won’t solve real problems,\" he declared, rallying support from nations like Pakistan, which delivered a joint statement on behalf of 80 countries defending China’s sovereignty over Xinjiang and Xizang. 💬

The clash highlights a growing divide: while Western countries push for scrutiny, the Global Majority is calling out hypocrisy. Over 20 nations individually backed China, and Fu Cong led 28 countries in condemning unilateral sanctions by Western states, calling them violations of international law. \"Unfair sanctions kill people, not policies,\" he argued.

This isn’t the first time the U.S. and allies have tried—and failed—to target China on human rights since 2019. But with support spanning Asia, Africa, and beyond, it’s clear the world is demanding fairer diplomacy. ✨
