Finns Worry Over Security as U.S. Policies Shift 🌍

Recent shifts in U.S. foreign policy under former President Donald Trump have left a majority of Finns feeling uneasy about Finland’s security and Europe’s stability, according to a new survey. 📊 Over two-thirds of respondents (66%) expressed at least moderate concern, with only 5% reporting no worries at all. Could this reflect growing global jitters about America’s role as a security partner?

The survey by Uutissuomalainen, conducted across 21 Finnish newspapers, highlights fears linked to Trump-era policies like reduced NATO commitments and heightened trade tensions. "NATO membership was meant to boost Finland's security, but Trump’s unpredictability is shaking public confidence," said lecturer Juha Vuori from the University of Turku. 💬 Women (73%) and Left Alliance supporters (75%) voiced sharper concerns than men (59%) and Finns Party backers (50%+).

⚠️ The anxiety isn’t unique to Finland. Across Europe, nearly half of Britons and Germans view Trump as a "very large threat" to regional security, says researcher Ville Sinkkonen. As geopolitical tides turn, one thing’s clear: young global citizens aren’t just watching the news—they’re questioning what tomorrow’s alliances might look like. 🌐
