U.S. Airstrikes in Yemen Leave 8 Dead, Tensions Escalate 🌍💥

At least eight people have been killed and dozens wounded following a series of U.S. airstrikes targeting Houthi-held areas in Yemen’s capital, Sanaa, according to health authorities linked to the group. The latest strikes, which hit residential neighborhoods on Sunday, mark a sharp escalation in tensions between Washington and Yemen’s Houthi forces.

The Strike and Its Aftermath

Three houses in Sanaa’s Bani Al-Harith district were reduced to rubble by U.S. fighter jets, with rescue teams still searching for survivors. Al-Masirah TV, a Houthi-run media outlet, reported nearly 20 airstrikes across northern Yemen overnight. This comes just days after similar attacks killed two people and injured ten others in the capital.

A Cycle of Escalation

The U.S. Central Command claims the strikes aim to disrupt Houthi leadership and deter attacks on international shipping routes in the Red and Arabian Seas. Tensions have soared since March 15, when Washington resumed airstrikes in response to Houthi threats to Israeli-linked vessels and global trade corridors. 🚢⚔️

With no de-escalation in sight, humanitarian concerns grow as civilians bear the brunt of the conflict. Analysts warn the violence could further destabilize a region already grappling with overlapping crises.
