Kenya Celebrates 30 Years of Gender Equality Progress 🌍✨

Three decades after the landmark Beijing Declaration, Kenya is reflecting on transformative strides in women's empowerment—and its partnership with China is taking center stage. 🌱

At Monday's High-level Dialogue on the Beijing+30 Action Agenda, Kenya's Deputy Ambassador to China, Lynette Mwende Ndile, highlighted how women now hold 35% of parliamentary seats in Kenya—a dramatic leap from just 3% in the 1990s. 🗳️ 'From education access to political participation, women are rewriting the rules,' she declared.

The numbers speak volumes: 65% of Kenyan women now participate in formal employment, thanks to initiatives like vocational training programs supported by China-Kenya collaborations. 💼 Principal Secretary Anne Wang'ombe emphasized: 'When women thrive, economies grow. Our joint projects have created tech hubs led by female entrepreneurs in Nairobi and Mombasa.'

🔍 Why it matters: As global youth push for inclusive futures, Kenya's journey offers a blueprint for turning policy into action. With 78% of young Kenyan women now completing secondary education (up from 42% in 2000), the next generation is ready to lead. 📈
